Space Hack - the hero

While introducing the restrictive law the government had to secure its execution. That's why the special units were created. Only the best from the best in killing art belonged to them. Officially, they were subordinate to Space Marines and practically they were separate organism with its own infrastructure. One of these units was commanded by "Space Hack", the man for whom there were no impossible things. He became famous for bravado attack in Mars harbours. The passenger ferry got captured by the group of terrorists. They took over hundred hostages. Most of the hostages were members of high-ranking governmental officials' families. Direct assault was out of question, as there could have been too many victims. Space Hack undertook the mission to set the hostages free. Equipped with the knife only, he forced his way to the ferry and after a few hours' fight he freed all hostages killing every terrorist. The only thing he lost was his eye. From day to day he became very famous. He became a pet of the elite in power and little boys looked up at him, so most of them wore the eye patch.

He fell off the pedestal as quickly as he became popular. He refused executing the order to suppress the rebellion of hungry miners. He was sentenced to life imprisonment on the Mist Planet and his people were executed. For the time of flight he was allocated in Biosphere A.

Space Hack's in-game model

Hostile commander van Horn decided to restrain Hack until they land on the target planet. He was afraid that extremely popular hero would soon raise a rebellion and deprive him of power. Kept in a tiny house, Hack could go out only under the escort. He didn't know that after landing far from public opinion he was supposed to be executed. He didn't care about his life - responsibility for his people, who had to die because he hadn't executed the order, lied heavy on his conscience.

The situation has changed diametrically, when Maximus XV got sucked by the Black Nebula. Van Horn needed everyone to defend against alien creatures. Hope arose in people's hearts, when they saw Space Hack strutting beside the conceited van Horn. The chance of survival appeared.

Patrick van Horn

Each biosphere has its own commander - the man, who is responsible for safety and organization of life in the biosphere. Patrick Van Horn is the ex-military man of high-level. Despite his young age, he became famous for several bravado campaigns against the rebellious moons of Saturn. He got promoted quickly. Work in a staff didn't satisfy him and his simple moral standards let his enemies to act. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for attempted forgery of strictly confidential documents. However, no-one has ever prove his guilt. He became a classic scapegoat in the political game. He was assigned to Biosphere A and thanks to him the "village" was created, what let his people survive. Impeccably honest and straightforward, he evokes trust.

He despises Hack, because he exposed people to death by being insubordinate. However, in current combat conditions he tolerates Hack, because he knows, that there is no better warrior in the "village". He doesn't trust him though and he would get rid of him quickly with pleasure.
